Kashmiri Saffron

Harvested by hand, one flower at a time

Every autumn the karewa fields of Pampore turn purple with crocus blooms. Each flower is picked at dawn and its three crimson stigmas separated by hand.

We dry the threads slowly and pack them in glass to protect their colour, aroma and flavour.

How to enjoy

• Soak 8–10 strands in 2 tbsp warm milk or water for 10 minutes before use
• Add to biryani, kheer, kahwa, desserts and warm milk
• Real saffron releases colour slowly. Instant red colour is a warning sign of fakes

Storage

• Store in the airtight glass jar, away from light and moisture
• Keep in a cool, dark cupboard. No need to refrigerate
• Best used within 24 months of packing
